Yoga Fitness Workout Introduction!

Here is a brief overview of what you can expect from the workout.
Each session combines mixed movement elements from yoga and fitness, suitable for everyone from the advanced beginner to the seasoned practitioner. So, if you like a challenge, a good sweat, and are looking for an excellent addition to your fitness, dance, or sports routine, this is the perfect fit for you!

  • We’ll open with light movements to promote mobility and core activation to prime the body (Isolation exercises, e.g., Roll-Ups & Downs, Arm Circles, Sit-Ups – equipment: loop resistance band).
  • Then we progress to movements that require more strength, balance, and dynamic control (e.g., variations of Push-Ups, Squats, Up & Down Dogs).
  • The session will peak with more advanced and athletic movement combinations to challenge the body (e.g., unilateral – Front Lunge to Reverse Pistol Squat; Inversions – Pike Stand to Forearm Stand). We focus on muscle strength utilizing a full range of motion and add some playfulness to the movements to improve balance and proprioception (equipment: loop resistance band).
  • And we finish with a nice cool-down, lighter movements, and stretches to recover. So, it’s just about time to get started!

In our workout sessions, we provide alignment cues and signal the transition to the next move. If movements are unfamiliar, modify the exercises to work for your body. Keep in mind, in a longer, fast-paced workout, there won’t always be time for a complete breakdown – certain moves or movement sequences are going to require more independent practice.
